(A golden combination)

Turmeric, best known from that delicious yellow curry, is the ground root of the Curcuma Longa plant.

This plant grows in Asia and Central America.

The extract from the root of the plant has been used for thousands of years in traditional Native American medicine.

Black pepper, on the other hand, is much more well-known in Belgium, the Netherlands…

In almost every restaurant you visit, there is a jar of black pepper on the table.

So… Besides giving curry its yellow color, turmeric is also used for its health benefits.

But what does black pepper have to do with this? In this article, I will explain to you exactly why turmeric and black pepper are such a powerful combination!

Actieve ingrediënten in turmeric and black pepper

Turmeric has been used for years for its health benefits, and most people consider black pepper to be nothing more than a flavor enhancer.

But… Black pepper itself also brings a number of health benefits.

Both turmeric and black pepper contain important active ingredients!

Curcumin in turmeric

The main active compounds in turmeric are curcuminoids. Of these curcuminoids, curcumin is the most active ingredient.

Curcumin is a polyphenol and has various health benefits. For example, it is a powerful antioxidant.

There are different forms of curcumin present in turmeric, some of which are inactive.

Therefore, it is better to choose a curcumin complex instead of an unprocessed turmeric extract.

Curcuma is the very best curcumin complex that contains ONLY the most active curcuminoids responsible for the health benefits:

curcumin, demethoxy-curcumin, and bisdemethoxy-curcumin.

In addition, the complex consists of at least 95% bioactive curcuminoids, as opposed to the 2-9% curcumin in unprocessed turmeric extract.

But… The big disadvantage of curcumin is that it is not well absorbed by your body.

It can therefore have health benefits after it is absorbed, but if it is poorly absorbed, it still won't do you much good...

Piperine in black pepper

Black pepper contains the bioactive compound piperine. Piperine is an alkaloid, just like capsaicin.

Capsaicin is the active ingredient in chili powder and cayenne pepper.

A bioactive substance is a substance that has the same properties as a certain nutrient but is not essential for your body because your body derives the same health benefits from the nutrient.

Piperine itself has a number of health benefits, such as supporting your digestion.

Maar… An even more important advantage of piperine is that it improves the absorption of curcumin in your body…

Piperine improves the absorption of curcumin

As I mentioned earlier, curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream.

Such a shame, because this means you largely miss out on the health benefits of curcumin.

Adding a source of piperine, such as black pepper extract, can help with this.

Research has shown that combining piperine with curcumin improves the absorption of curcumin by the body by up to 20 times!

But… Even unprocessed black pepper contains only a small amount of piperine.

It is therefore wise to choose a high-quality black pepper extract!

Our Peperine is one of the best black pepper extracts in the world.

It is an extremely pure, safe, and effective extract that has been clinically tested.

The combination of Curcumin and Piperine provides 276x better bioavailability than a product with only a standardized 95% curcumin extract!

How exactly does this work?

Well... First of all, it seems that piperine makes it easier for curcumin to pass through your intestinal wall and into your bloodstream.

Secondly, it appears that piperine slows down the breakdown of curcumin by the liver, causing its level in your blood to increase.

The combination of the Curcuma complex with piperine is therefore a very powerful combination!

The combination enhances the health benefits

Although curcumin and piperine each have their own health benefits, they are even better together.

The Indian medicine has relied on turmeric for thousands of years.

Earlier I mentioned that curcumin, among other things, has an antioxidant effect.

But… In addition, it also helps to keep your liver healthy, support your digestion, and maintain your joints*.

Curcumin can even contribute to a healthy mental balance*!

Piperine also has a positive effect on your health*.

Zo ondersteunt een zwarte peper extract je spijsvertering, je zenuwstelsel en je luchtwegen*.

In addition, it plays a role in your blood circulation and your digestion of toxins.

In short, a multitude of health benefits combined!
